COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course has been designed
to assist the students in
·
Exploring the
Origins, Nature and Evolution of Regional Cooperation and /or Integration among
States in the International System.
·
Analyzing the
types of international regionalism, theories of integration and regionalism,
contemporary trends and issues in regional politics.
·
Examining the
various approaches to integration ,
·
Discussing some
regional organizations like the EU. AU, NATO, ECOWAS, ASEAN, SADCC
METHOD
OF TEACHING/TEACHING AIDS:
The
method of Teaching is mostly participatory. The teacher outlines the major
points of discourse on the topic. He talks to these points so outlined. Students are encouraged to participate
by
raising questions. The Teaching Aid employed is the Overhead Projector where
transparency containing the printed matter for the course is projected on the
screen during the contact hours.
